am i cooked?

Feeling really discouraged and anxious the past couple of days. Got into Davis, but rejected from UCI. My school has at least 10 people I can list off the top of my head that got in. Some had little to no ECS and got accepted, but other all rounder kids got rejected for similarly competitive majors, so I have no idea what the determining factor could’ve been.

I heard Davis is a really good school, but I just don’t think it’s for me. It’s wayyy too far and I really love SoCal. I’m also constantly told to just go to a calstate (got into all I applied to) then transfer, but I also don’t wanna kiss my social life goodbye either (same idea with a cc transfer).

I know it all just stems from luck of the draw, but I can’t help but think I won’t get into any other UCs. I’m applying to some out of state schools now because I’ve realized how little options I have. But please, I really don’t wanna be with the cows 🥹
