Stinking hot day in Sydney, what's everyone wearing while riding?

I was riding home from work in my protective gear for 10mins - shoes, jeans, supposedly summer friendly ventilated jacket, helmet and couldn't wait to get it off once home. Drenched in sweat.

What's peoples suggestion when dealing with a hot summer and riding while also staying protected? Would love to know! Tia
