Redback Boots Very Hard to Put On!

I'm having a really difficult time putting on my Redbacks 12AUS/13US. I'm wearing my regular socks that I've worn with my Wolverines which I have no problem putting on. The Redbacks are difficult sliding my foot in the back. It seems real rough leather that just grabs my socks. I pull on the back loops, but I'm afraid they will break even though these boots are new. Anyone else have similar problems or a solution?
