New hair growth after a year of no highlights, exciting!
I stopped highlighting my hair over a year ago. Didn't go to any hairdressers since and just let my hair grow out. I also stopped using a straightener on my dull bleached hair that fried it!
I've noticed the past few months a lot of short hair growth all over my head when I'm blow drying with a round brush. And a lot more little hairs sticking up when I put it in a bun. My temple areas suddenly seem to be filling in a little more too, since I've been taking collagen powder every single friggin day.
My mid to ends are still thinner, cause that's where all my old highlighted hair is, but I'm hopeful another year or so they'll make there way down and I'll have more hair at the ends.
My side bang area still feels a little thinner but I'm hoping these baby hairs will make their way down.
I made the best decision last year to stop messing with coloring, especially so frequently. I don't know how people with dyed blonde hair or highlights are doing it. My hair is naturally curly and more fragile, so I've learned it doesn't like to be bleached or coloured too often. Maybe once and that's it.
And no straightener ever again! Now that my hair is healthier, and I've been using a silicone conditioner, a simple blow dry with round brush gives me the best smoothest shiny pretty hair. I don't need to use extreme heat like before. Which was causing all the breakage and hairs around my temples.
Just a small victory for me I wanted to share. If anyone dyes their hair and is losing hair, I highly recommend doing a hair detox and leave it alone! Be gentle and patient and let it grow on its own for a couple years. 🥰
