Home renovations - which order?
We are currently under contract for a house and set to close in a week. The house is move in ready and livable but could use some updates. It was built in 2005 so I feel like I can live with the way it is at least for a little bit, but I do think that improvements will significantly make the house better.
Floors are 2000s orange/brown looking engineered hardwood that I would want updated to LVP. Walls are cream/beige/gray that I would want painted to white. For the kitchen, it currently has a two level bat wing island that I would like replaced with a rectangular island.
We can’t afford to renovate the floors, kitchen, and repaint before move in.
We can maybe afford to hire someone to repaint or do the floors before move in, probably not both. We do need to be moved in by 3 weeks though because we have to move out of our current place.
Would you just DIY these renovations overtime or should we hire someone to do paint before move-in and then we do floors on our own over time or the opposite? (Hire for floors before move in and DIY paint over time). What would you do?
