PatalLok S02. Just finished the series. I have a topic to discuss. [Spoiler alert]

Why did they make Ansari gay? It didn't add anything to the story, didn't do anything reg the character development of Hathiram as we saw Hathiram being unhappy about his wife's plan to conduct tuitions. Also, it didn't add anything to Ansari's character as well. He would hv bn the same otherwise. Was it a case of queer baiting as we hv seen a million times in Hollywood or did it actually add something that i missed?
