The only thing I still hate about this game

There's no feeling that you're exploring uncharted territory.

You go to one of trillions upon trillions of systems in the middle of absolutely nowhere, and there's a space station there for some reason. You find an "undiscovered" world, but there's a trading port within walking distance of where you landed. You get led to an ATLAS station by an ancient unknowable entity that tells you the secrets of the universe and all of existence, then a fleet of freighters warps in within spitting distance of it. I guess the location of the most ancient and bizarre thing in existence is just common knowledge?

I know that space stations sort of need to be in every system for gameplay reasons, because without them it would be easy to strand yourself somewhere with no means of escape, but I don't see the need to have NPC starships flying around every single planet no matter how remote it is. It makes exploring feel very unspecial when there's people around you at almost all times. I don't think every planet needs a spaceport where ships come and go every 30 seconds. I don't think we need freighters dominating every square inch of every system, nor do they need to drop in every time you exit a pulse jump. None of these things add much of anything to the game, but they're still there for some reason.

Rant over.
