Evacuated Los Angeles to Reno
House is ok-ish(so far, seeing the new fires today are crazy so who knows), just haven't had power for a few weeks and have contractors starting work today which will take 3 weeks. Found a cheap studio for rent for that time via kasa.com in the 'Reno Experience District's for me and my 9mo old puppers...
A few questions...
How is the neighborhood I'm in? Safe?
Recommended dog parks?
I work from home during the day, and need to keep things relatively inexpensive but recommendations for places to eat or things to do/see and make the most of my time here?
Thanks all in advance!
Side note, it's stunningly beautiful here and refreshing seeing ice on the lakes today and snow on the mountain tops...
edit 2:
Ive had to work a bunch the last few days to make up for the last few weeks... but ive been to a few of the dog parks and walked around Virginia lake... Also, i learned about black ice, will post photos if the bruise is funny enough. Most of the food ive been eating is door dash since again, work... but yall got stuff ive always wanted to try and finally got a chance to...
Cracker Barrel: i couldnt move for hours... loved it
Raising Cains: s'aight, that sauce was bomb though
Cluckers: I liked it better then Raising Cains... fight me
Where does one get fresh squeezed OJ here?
Thanks again yall... i plan on hitting sushi, sparks marina and maybe a bar later in the week work permitting... also wanna check out any of the art museums here.
Also will come up with a plan for tahoe either next weekend or the weekend after.
I hit a dispensary, wonder what are evderyones thoughts on the best in town.
back with more soon... also sorry if i fought you but you probably told me not to live here and thats shitty.
edit 1: I took all these comments minus those telling me not to move here (i leaned in, i regret it... im displaced and not thrilled but that does not excuse my troll feeding... also, im totally moving here, fuck haters.) and copied them to chatGPT with the following prompt:
ok... you are an expert in analysis and breaking down social media comments for relevant information... I posted a query in reddit and have received tons of comments giving me insights into the area im staying for the next few weeks I will copy and paste the thread in its entirety, please parse the thread and pull out all relevant pieces of information related to places of interest and weight them based on the comments provided. Please break the analysis down by any groupings that can be made... examples include: dining dog parks hikes places of interest bars please identify any other catagories that may be missing... before i begin, and paste the whole thread in here,. is there any other criteria you think... as an expert in the field that i should be providing or are there any additional questions for me ?
