RimWorld Youtubers with unique, creative playstyle?
Hi,
I like watching people playing sandbox games and RimWorld is one of them. I've watched some Rhadamant, AdamVsEverything or Francis John.
Yet I noticed a problem with their playstyles: It is kinda predictable min-maxing, where all that they change is the challenge. They don't really explore new playstyles or more indirect goals. It's mostly just about increasing the difficulty and adding more restrictions.
What I'd like to see is someone pushing the boundaries of "what to do" in a sandbox game. I noticed the same problem when watching Minecraft Youtubers, that they turned a sandbox game into a "challenge", which is kinda boring after a while. Because it's just a repetition of the same with a slight change.
Actual the real purpose of a sandbox game is to explore choices and kinda "re-think and re-approach" the way you play those type of games. E.g. Minecraft's original purpose should be more about creatively building a nice world. That's kinda the main selling point.
When you turn RimWorld into nothing but a tower-defense game, then you might as well just play a tower-defense game, right? So I feel like this is kind of a niche for Youtubers. To re-define what playing RimWorld is even about. That it's not just about min-maxing to win, but that it's (as Tynan even says) a story-teller. It's a sandbox.
So again, my question would be, do you know any Youtubers who approach RimWorld like that? Who are more about telling a unique story, trying a unique approach? Basically Youtubers who more of "creative" personalities and don't just want to "win"?
