Can't play Sea Of Thives

When I start sea of thieves final beta I get this message: You can't play multiplayer games because of how your account is set up. Go to your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com to change this. I have tried for over an hour to get it sorted. Does anyone have any idea how?
