I'm a Bulwark main and refuse to play anything else. I'm sorry.
EDIT: Holy Canoli you guys, thank you for all the love and responses. Genuinely, I didn't think this post would go anywhere, but I appreciate all the kind words, the energy to push me into trying the other classes again at some point, and even about your own personal experiences and preferences.
~Death is my craft, and soon you shall know only that which I create.~
Since day one of release, I have studied nothing but the ways of the sword and shield. Protecting and harnessing greatness with the brother to my left and right. However, I finally decided to branch out to other classes, and I hated it. Here's why.
Tactical: Oh man, where do I begin. The class feels like playing a mashed potato simulator. You're either amazing at this class or you are (like me) horrid at it and get downed every mob pack. You might call it a skill issue, but I do not enjoy the gunplay aspect of "turn on the lights, shoot weak weaponry at mobs for them to soak half a mag or more, then maybe do some melee that will ultimately get you killed". All in all, I hated playing Tactical and won't touch it again.
Assault: Changed up some colors, loaded into a game, and immediately died to a sniper when I did the jump pack to strike down on a group. 0/10 won't be touching jumpy boi again.
Vanguard: Edgy class with knife and grapple. Couldn't grapple Majories properly while dealing with minoris enemies around. I'm terrible at it, and don't want to spend any more time being a waste of oxygen with other people.
Sniper: Unironically, I enjoyed sniper for a couple of levels. However, my aim is atrocious due to my broken arm recovery, and thus, I probably won't be touching it again for a while. Granted, the guys I played with said I did fairly well, I failed to land important shots on stationary targets. Might try Sniper again later, but until i'm healed this will be a put-off-til-later class for me.
Heavy: HOLY HELLS the Heavy class was a mixed bag of "THIS IS AWESOME!" to only immediately be followed up with "Wait, i'm down because I can't dodge or parry/block while in zoomed stance?". Playing Heavy made me feel like I was playing a mashed potato simulator while drunk. I felt incredibly useless other than hip firing and using my iron halo to take objectives and counter ranged hordes. Heavy players, you have a HUGE commendation from me for being able to even play this class let alone be a carrying factor when you play like gods.
And Finally - Bulwark: I saved the best for last because MAN DO I LOVE IT. Not only was I immediately in love with the idea of the shield and power sword combo, I also picked up the playstyle insanely fast. I was doing difficulties I wasn't supposed to do at my level/gear levels. I connected to this class so easily, and then found my way into the tomekeepers/deathguard lore and just went full hard-on for it. Bulwark has been my only level 25 with 90% at least of my wargear unlocked to relic. Bulwark is my confidence class, and the only thing I know.
TL;DR - Others classes I just suck at or had a bad experience, Bulwark is sexy man with flag. :D
