Question for those who have played Dredge and DLC.

I'm going to buy Dredge and after looking up the reviews for the DLC "The Pale Reach" and "The Iron Rig" there seems to be a fair amount of people that left reviews on steam saying it's best to get the DLC when you buy the game as both DLC's can be played during the main story. Do you folk think this is the best way for a new player to play the game? With the DLCs from the start or add them after playing through the main story? Does it enhance the game in any meaningful way having the DLCs from the start or do you think it's better to play through the game first then tackle the DLCs?
