Lots of recent posts complaining about working over 40 hours on a salary.

I get it, we don't like working extra hours and not getting paid for it. However, it's starting to look bad because almost every other salaried profession is in the same boat. It's a bad hill to die on. If you are spending 45-50 hours per week instead of 40, that's actually pretty typical of professional salaried positions. If you're working 50+ hours a week, then you need to talk to your administration and figure out how to streamline, cut, or shift some of your workload. We're all in this together, but complaining about having to work more than 40 hours a week isn't going to accomplish anything.
