Eddy for ps5

So I’m looking right now (I haven’t had the chance to check the tekken shop in-game yet) and to my knowledge, the only way for me to buy eddy is by getting the $40 deluxe upgrade that has the year one pass??? Is that real?? I’m trying to avoid getting mad since I haven’t seen in-game yet but if that’s the only way then I just have no words. How does it keep getting worse for a full priced game?
