Is it just to stand up for LGBT individuals because of discrimination? Is there scripture that may suggest such?
Hello all. To preface, I would like to avoid specific political discussion. I understand the consensus in the subreddit is that LGBT identity is sinful. Scripture leads me to believe similarly. However, what causes me great conflict, is if it is best to advocate for defending attacks on the identity of queer peoples. In contrast to other sins, identifying as queer is not immediately, or even directly harmful towards oneself or others. Therefore, I don't think it would be right to stand by as they suffer by the hands of partiality against them by those around them. I do not wish to defend sin, but I do believe it is just to help those who are suffering, even if it is because of a sin. I want to reject the sin, not the sinner. Frankly, I wish I was more certain on the matter. Does anyone have insight on what Christ may say?
