Are the original/first books somewhat rare and/or valuable?

I have the first four books, and I remember looking up a few years back to see if there was hardcover versions available and whilst doing so, I saw the first book being sold for a fairly high price that I wasn’t expecting. Might have been a one-off but not sure.
