Literally just started

Hey everyone! I just started playing this and wanted to know who would be the best three characters for me to use to get me through the early game and also be helpful later on? I want to be mindful of resources and not waste them unnecessarily. I haven’t used my free 5-star yet and don’t know who to choose so any help and tips with that is appreciated! And overall any other tips and suggestions are welcome
