Is it normal for my Spanish girlfriends parents to kiss me?

I've been dating a Spanish girl for a few months now

Yesterday she introduced me to her parents and the first thing they both did (mum and dad) was kiss me on the check

I'm honestly quite surprised that they would greet me by kissing me on the cheek 😂

But I wanted to ask, is this normal in Spanish culture to kiss your children's partners/spouses in the cheeks as a way to greet them?
