new temperament system SO much better than barbarians
So much more flavor to meet encampments in the ancient era - some are friendly, some are indifferent, and some don't like you either!
The fact that nearby hostile encampments will take notice if your settlements are undefended and send out some goons as a reactive measure is SO, SOOOO, SO much better than a barbarian outpost spawning in the single fog of war tile 4 hexes from my capital with a ❗ on a scout's head the instant it spawns, consigning you to 6 straight turns of warriors spawning out of the outpost like a clown car.
Barbarians in VI were gimmicky by design - I really like this gameplay change a lot so far.
