Do you have an Origin coin?
This was the coin that my dad had that first interested me in coin collecting when I was younger. He had a small collection that consisted of some Indian head cents, (which I almost picked for this post) Mercury dimes, walking Liberty’s and a few others.
This was the coin that really got my interested in collecting though. It was so big! And heavy and I was fascinated by the design. (I remember i used to think the eagle on the reverse is sitting on Liberty’s hair bun because of the rays on her crown and the rays of the sun look similar 🤣)
I grew up in the 90’s so I had never seen anything like this! I still LOVE this design and this particular coin will always have a special place in my collection.
My question for the community; do you have an origin coin that initially sparked your interest in collecting?
