Case Study: Lecithin (1200mg, 4 weeks) with high orgasmic frequency
TL;DR in Plain English:
A daily dosage of 1200 mg Lecithin nearly doubled my normal volume. Lecithin might have a larger than normal impact for me because I orgasm about twice per day. It could also just be my body being weird. If you take Lecithin, expect it to reach peak effectiveness in about 3 weeks. Once you stop taking it, you may still see effects for about 1 week. For the specifics, see the attached charts and the details below.
Introduction:
I collected data for a bit more than 6 weeks to determine the impact of 4 weeks of 1200 mg daily dosage with Lecithin on my ejaculatory volume.
I am high libido multi-orgasmic and my average orgasmic frequency is twice per day with a volume of about 2.5 mL using only a multivitamin which includes 15mg of zinc. I didn't practice any chastity during this trial. I'm married to a high libido woman and I'm not willing to deny her sex for this data. When our sexual activity spikes, my sample volume typically drops. To provide context, I have included the previous day's orgasmic frequency as a reference point in Chart 2. Generally speaking, when my frequency is lower than 2, my volume rises and when it is higher than 2 it drops but that isn't always true. In chart 3, the rolling average smooths out the spikes and it gives you a clearer view of the effect of Lecithin over an extended duration.
Every person's body is different and that's okay. I understand that my body is unusual and it's better if you know that I'm different when you look at the data because my response to supplements could be an unusual. Being honest about being multi-orgasmic can cause a lot of different reactions in people including disbelief or a negative suggestion that I'm boasting. I'm going to give you the data and you decide if it is credible.
Part of what makes my body different also makes me a good guinea pig. I am potentially useful in this space because I can collect more data than average to show trends. I also may give insight into faster recycle time of the prostate as it rebuilds seminal fluid. While large volume isn't really a goal for me, I am interested in the science of orgasm and pushing the limits of what my body can achieve. My goal is holistically a better orgasmic experience and I want to see if Lecithin helps with that.
Personal Data:
Computer engineer and martial arts coach including light to heavy cardio
Age: Early 50s
Ejaculatory volume for age: My volume is just slightly higher than average for my age.
Orgasmic frequency: For the last 3 years my frequency has been approximately twice per day
BMI: 26
General Health Stuff: Married, monogamous, sexually active, slightly elevated blood pressure, mild epilepsy treated with medication, otherwise healthy
The Daily Stack Being Tested:
- 15 mg Zinc as part of a multivitamin
- 1200 mg Sunflower Lecithin
Process:
- Dosage: Carlyle Sunflower Lecithin, 1200 mg Softgel Capsule
- First dose: April 1
- Last dose on April 28.
- No missed doses in that period.
At approximately 8 AM, I would take a volume sample. As the study progressed, samples became daily. My measuring cup has 2.5 mL intervals. Measurements are accurate to within 2.5 mLs and perhaps as precise as 1.00 to 1.25 mL with some margin for error. As I continued taking measurements, I got better at the process. Later data is more precise than earlier data.
Regions of the chart without data are days in which I didn't take samples. These empty sections are not chastity intervals but more correctly, intervals in which I was sexually active with my spouse and was occupied such that taking samples wasn't my primary consideration.
Findings:
Baseline volume: ~2.61 mL
Volume after 3 weeks of 1200 mg: ~4.6 mL on average
Volume increase: ~75% increase in volume
Lowest Volume: 2 mL
Highest Volume: 5.5 mL
Calculation for percentage increase:
((Increased volume - baseline volume)/baseline volume) x 100 = percentage increase
((4.57 - 2.61)/2.61) x 100 = 75.1%
Key Points:
- Peak volume (5.5 mL) required 3 weeks on supplement.
- Increased volume was about 75% higher for an individual with high orgasmic frequency.
- After supplement stoppage, volume tapered off over the course of a week back to baseline.
- Orgasmic intensity: Based on my experience, I believe my orgasms were more intense on Lecithin. That is a subjective assessment and I don't have a way to quantify it into meaningful data.
Chart 1 - The Impact of 1200 mg Lecithin on Volume (simple)
Notice that I start 1200 mg Lecithin on April 1 and it appears to reach peak volume in about 3 weeks. Lecithin stops on April 28 and it takes about a week for the volume to return to baseline. The red trendline is a 4th degree polynomial and does a good job of highlighting the change in volume over time.
Chart 2 - The Impact of 1200 mg Lecithin on Volume (with orgasmic frequency)
Orgasmic frequency in the previous 24 hours is creating noise in the volume data.
- Baseline orgasmic frequency is 2 per day.
- Lower orgasmic frequency often (but not consistently) resulted in higher volumes (volume spiking).
- Higher orgasmic frequency often results in lower volumes but appears to have a lower threshold of about 2 mL after a night's sleep (volume drops).
Chart 3 - The Impact of 1200 mg Lecithin on Volume (7-day rolling average)
This chart is the most useful because it smooths out the spikes created by large changes in my orgasmic frequency. The smoothing presents a less noisy picture of the effects of Lecithin and, again, it shows peak volume at about 3 weeks with a 4.67 mL average. That hill shape is exactly what you would expect if the supplement was working as expected.
- When I didn't have a complete set of 7 day data, I average the data which is present for that week based on the number of days available.
- You can see I reach a flattening steady state in this data once the supplement reaches peak effectiveness at about 3 weeks which persists while the supplement is present in my system. The average maintains at about 4.5 mL.
- As my body weans off the Lecithin, you can see it return to the baseline and reach steady state again at about 2.5 mL.
Summary:
Based on my case study, Lecithin has a significant impact on ejaculatory volume with an increase of 75% with my high orgasmic frequency. This data won't tell us what the volume impact would be for someone practicing periodic abstinence but it suggests an increased refreshing rate for seminal fluids and an overall greater volume. I also felt like my orgasms were consistently more intense.
Your results may be different because we have different bodies and different orgasmic frequencies. Based on these findings, I would recommend Lecithin to any person wanting to increase volume but also to any person wanting overall better penile orgasmic experiences.
Lecithin, yes. It's legit.
What's Next?:
- Reproduce this experiment with a larger dosage (2400 mg) of Lecithin over 4 weeks with another 2 week weaning period. The next set of data will include more precise volumes, weight, and density. I expect to complete that case study and publish the results in late June.
- After that I will be running a similar case study with Carlyle L-Arginine L-Citrulline Complex at 2250mg. Exact same format, different supplement. I expect to publish that data in August.
- Maybe another case study with both Lecithin and L-Arg\L-Cit combined.
- Case study on volume with different abstinence intervals? In order to do this, I need to get some agreement from my spouse beforehand. She may not be willing to sacrifice for science.
- I may also do a test in which I measure volume on a set time cadence (once per hour?) to observe the volume reduction for a series of orgasms within a short window of time.
