Washing hair facing downwards

Hello everyone, I've been trying to perfect my curly hair and one of the advice I've heard from my friend was to wash it upside down. My question is to anyone who does that, do you just not stand up until your hair is dry? Because if i flip my hair back before it's dry, it just gets all tangled up. Thanks to anyone who responds
