Meet the €700 330i, Rust Edition

Found this beauty for 700 euro. I love the touring shape E46, completely in love with it.

Interior is really clean for the mileage (260k kms). It also has the pretty rare Nappa leather with extended leather on the door cards, HK and black headliner.

DSC yaw sensor is bad, have that coming my way and apart from the she runs and drives great. Shifts nicely and she pulls.

The enemy here would always be rust. I found new front panels/fenders in this color. The back would either be a bondo job or overfender, nor sure yet.

Yesterday I went and checked around the jacking points on a lift as that would be the main point of MOT failure in the Netherlands. They are quite crusty. I have to save those first before proceeding with anything else.

I was (foolishly) thinking this could maybe, possibily and probably (not😅) be done without welding. Turns out it does.

Therefor my last resort is appealing to an enthousiast in Netherlands, Belgium or Germany with a welding machine who can reconstruct jacking points. I’ll be doing all the prep work and I could also source the steel. Just need a welder, doesn’t have to be pretty. Paying for this job professionally would not justifiable unfortunately. But I’m willing to pay a fee proportionate to the car.

This is quite a stretch of course, so if I’m on my own I have to abort mission. Real shame how rust gets to these things.

SAVE THE 330s!! That engine is magnificent.
