Is there a good, affordable eink smartphone that will work on Verizon in the US?
After watching loads of list videos and doing research, my current list of possible phones are Light II, Bigme Hibreak, and Hisense A5.
But they all have concerning issues, so I'll detail what I'm looking for in a minute. First the Light Phone II looks like it can't do much. Navigation is bad, no photos, and when I've held one they feel cheap. But it's basically not a smartphone.
The Bigme apparently has a wonky OS, and rooting in Lineage seems to technical for me. But otherwise it looks like it has a lot of basic smartphone capabilities like browsing and navigation. It also looks like it'll work with Verizon, the only decent carrier in my area.
The Hisense A5 has its issues as well. No Google support, everything's in Chinese, and I'm not sure it'll work on Verizon.
So is there a decent, affordable (under $400) eink smartphone that retains most basic smartphone functions, has a functional OS, and will work on Verizon networks?
I realize there's the Hisense A7 & A9, but they're too expensive. The only reason I'm considering the A5 is they're in the $200-300 range used on eBay.
Thanks.
