Got my Gallblader removed
I am 23 years old. 6 days ago I had my gallbladder operation. I had my first biliary colic 8 months ago. I still remember exactly how scared I was. I thought I was about to die of a heart attack. After 8 minutes the terrible pain disappeared. Then I had irregular colic. The doctors didn't know what I had and assumed it was gastritis. After a gastroscopy in July it actually turned out that I had chronic type B gastritis caused by Helicobacter. I was quickly put on antibiotics and hoped that my symptoms would soon go away. After my second week of antibiotics I had another bad attack and had to throw up for the first time. I noticed lumps. It looked like small stones. I lived with colic for another month until I gave a stool sample after 6 weeks to check whether the Helicobacter had disappeared. This was also the case and my gastroenterologist determined that I had gallstones. I got an appointment for an MRCP 3 weeks later. 4 days before my appointment I had another bout of colic and ended up in hospital. The doctors there could not find any gallstones during the ultrasound. In hospital I had 2 bouts of colic and have been treated with tilidine and novalgin since then. The MRCP showed that a stone was stuck deep in the bile duct and that my gallbladder was enlarged. 5 days later I had an operation. The operation went smoothly. On the day of the operation I had terrible pain and a drainage. I felt like I had been run over and couldn't move. But the pain got better every day. Today: 6 days after the operation I can get up almost pain-free. I also only had diarrhea once and otherwise no digestive problems! I am overjoyed and have no regrets.
