Plastic or Wood ammonia build up

Hello all !

I used to run tupperdors and I would burp them weekly, but after a few years of this I noticed ammonia build up. Now I keep it around 70F and 65RH, which it held perfectly. So I switched to wood humidor chest. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you for your time.
