Just got an ipod 5.5 advice

Just bought this (I think) 5.5 gen ipod yesterday from FB. It didn’t come with a charger but I received it with the battery fully charged. It was working perfectly fine for the first hour while I played around with it until I plugged in a pair of headphones in the audio jack. After that it played a song for about 3 seconds and then screen went black and showed the apple logo and then it showed the battery icon with the yellow warning triangle in the corner. It also makes a quiet clicking sound when I try to hold the menu and center button down and then goes back to the apple logo and battery logo

Based on other posts and youtube videos I’ve watched it sounds like it might need a new battery?

Any other recommendations?
