What buildings to definitely avoid in JC? Any recommendations?

We're moving to JC (or Hoboken) in the spring and have begun looking at places online. I've lived in NYC most of the last 20 years in many buildings, so I'm not new to urban life or badly run buildings. Currently in a horribly run building that is supposed to be "luxury". We're looking for a 2/2 (needs to be dog friendly - we've got a little dog and an almost 1 year old). Budget is 5.5k max. We're also looking at Hoboken but please tell me what buildings to avoid - with specific reasons - or any buildings you highly recommend. We don't really care about fancy amenities - we tend to never use them when we have them - we'd prefer a larger unit over gyms, pools, etc. so we might go the route of a smaller building or condo rental anyway. Needs to have parking and be within a 15 min walk to the PATH train ideally. We're thinking about possibly Windsor by Liberty House right now. Thanks!
