Relocating from Cowtown

Currently in Fort Worth. I just accepted a job in Kansas City and will be relocating with my 11-year-old daughter in May. We’re looking to rent a two-bedroom townhouse in the $2,000–$2,400 range, though I’m open to an apartment as well.

The most important things for me are good schools, after-school care, and extracurricular activities. My daughter loves soccer and ninja, and she’s recently gotten interested in fencing. I want to be close to her activities. I’ve been focusing on Overland Park, Lenexa, and Shawnee, but I’d love any suggestions or insights on good neighborhoods.
