Astra 400 Ammo rumors. Are they true?

My LGS has 3 Astra 400’s for sale, all $399 each. I’ve been thinking of grabbing one since my last opportunity passed me by 5+ years ago.

The problem is ammo availability, with 9mm Largo being impossible to find nearby. The gun shop even told me it’s all on back order from their suppliers, so it looks like it’s not coming around anytime soon.

The guy at the gun shop said they could fire 9mm Luger, and a google search shows a few cases of people using it, but I wanted a more direct answer.

So, can the Astra 400 reliably chamber and fire 9mm Luger?
