Vertuo Patent

Hi! This is such a stupid question lol. I am wondering if anyone had any thoughts on when or knows about when patented “containers” like the vertuo pods capsules end? I’m only wondering because I want more flavors and when I went to tj maxx there were so many flavors for the espresso machine but none for the vertuo😩
