All we are saying ... if give Slugging a chance!
I'll admit I'm not sure of the state of Slugging post CoVID, but when I was an active slugger for like 4 years going from Springfield and Lorton to the Pentagon, it was life changing. I've done it all, Metro, VRE, driven alone, biked, and nothin compares to slugging.
There are lots of myths out there also.
Its not safe! It is. Seriously. I don't know if there has ever been an incident outside of an automobile accident in the last like 50 years. I once had a pregnant women pick me up with her 2 year old daughter! I even asked her, you are okay with this? she was like yes. Been doing this years, I'm totally comfortable with it.
You can't talk in the car! Yes, you can freaking talk in the car. I didn't do it all the time, but for sure its okay to try. You just have to read the room ... or car.
Its risky getting rides! Not once, and I'm not exaggerating, not once in 4 years did I not get a ride home. Even when I was late in the evening getting to a lot. Just make sure you got public transit as a back up. But you won't need it.
People are respectful of your car and I have never gone in car that was ever so messy or nasty that I remembered it. And I remember crap like that. Also never had anyone drive recklessly. I CAN'T SAY THAT ABOUT UBER.
I was such a hold out. No way I was doing it. My uncle kept pleading with me, He had done it for 20 plus years. When I finally did it ... man, the time and and money savings blew me away.
