I want to introduce toys in the bedroom

My boyfriend (m26) and I (f24) have been together for 8 years. We have an amazing sex life, but I don’t know how to express to him that I want to spice it up in the bedroom. I read a lot of smut so it puts me in the mood a lot, but how do I go about that situation?? What were your experiences when wanting to bring this up?
