Just starting at 3yo

Hi all, I'm the mom of a newly 3 year old, and although I realize I should have started earlier, I am getting my act together now to start the process. I'm reading Oh Crap, have purchased a toddler seat for our potty and other supplies, and am trying to ready us both for this whole thing.

What's your best advice? Anything to avoid? I assume consistency and persistence are the name of the game? I'm thinking next weekend for our commando weekend start time. Going to email daycare and let them know.
