Pearl Hero Grip turning brown

I use the pearl Hero grip but whenever I load up my save the grip turns brown and it looks ugly, and not just for the grip, but also the pearl grip as well. So I have to customize it, and then change it back to the regular grip, which cost money, everytime I load a save, any way to fix it?
