Phone recommendations after decline of my Galaxy S8

I wanted to reach out to the community for a phone recommendation, since my S8 seems to be on its last legs with overheating and the battery quickly dying. I'm not a phone gamer and mainly want a phone with good performance (not laggy/slow) and has a good battery life, for my next one. Any recommendations/threads this question has already been asked in?
