Can we talk about how Elden Ring runbacks are horrible and badly designed?

Runbacks have always been the defining characteristic of Souls games, and their removal fundamentally clashes with the series core design philosophy.

Simply restarting a boss fight without consequence? That just fails to adequately punish the player for their failure. There should be at least 2-3 minutes of reflective clarity—a brief period to contemplate how their inadequacy in the game mirrors the inadequacies of their own life. And loading screen is just not enough.

Ultimately, I suspect this decision stems from Miyazaki not wanting us go through these areas repeatedly, because we might begin to notice just how poorly designed they are.
