Do I need to have played/completed the original trilogy to enjoy the sequel?

Hi there,

As per the title, I was just wondering if it's important to play the original trilogy to be able to play and enjoy S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 properly?

Am I going to be missing out on anything majorly important, or can I go in fresh and enjoy it? I guess I can always play the originals after the sequel as well?
