Should Tyler bring back the guitar?
Title says it all.
In my totally unbiased opinion, I believe that Tyler should bring back the guitar (I definitely don’t study guitar in college and think it’s the best instrument in the world).
I think Scaled and Icy wouldn’t sound good to me if there wasn’t guitar in it. I’m glad Tyler learned guitar over lockdown, but I felt sad to find out the Next Semester doesn’t actually have guitar in it. It’s just a ukulele with an effect to make it distorted (boo).
I like to play over their songs and add guitar stuff on top of it, if it’s appropriate (shredding to Truce doesn’t seem right for some reason lol) but songs like Ode to Sleep, Guns for Hands, Trees, Ride, Heavydirtysoul, Jumpsuit, Next Semester, and more sound good with a guitar for that extra sound of awesomeness.
Just to let y’all know I love their music and wouldn’t change a thing about it, I’ve been a fan since like 2013ish and hearing their sound change through the years and all of their albums are fantastic and hold a special place in my heart.
Let me know what y’all think about adding guitar to some songs, and have a great day
EDIT: I know that Next Semester uses a uke with effects, but I am unsure as for the rest of Clancy. Midwest Indigo sounds like it has a little guitar solo, but I’m unsure.
