How would you feel if they introduced a character that wields a non lethal weapon as a martial art.

Obviously Soul Calibur exists and I don't want to the cast defending against a swordsman but there are many martial arts that use weapons like staffs, nun chuks, etc that wouldn't look that out of place in a series like Vf. It could be an interesting avenue to explore for vf6. What do you guys think?
